Sadly Jim was unwell and unable to attend Ken's funeral but we thought it would be nice to publish his words .. BRIEF THOUGHTS TO CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF MY VERY SPECIAL FRIEND. How fortunate I was to meet Ken all those years ago at Phillips Petroleum; both of us ex. B.P. We found a "home from home" where our joint efforts were recognised and encouraged. What made Ken special? His love of Family and his unfailing good humour to all he met. Both Kay and I, with our children, Stephen, Samantha and Andrew spent many happy hours with Ken, Shirley, Gavin and Julia in various locations throughout the world - it was always a pleasure to spend quality time in their company. However, there was so much more to Ken. A very successful Businessman on a Global scale: Held in high esteem by colleagues and competitors alike. A lover of both Rugby and Golf. His support for Welsh Rugby was legendary. Ken and I were founder members of "BAGADS". WE travelled far and wide to enjoy each other's company in some wonderful locations, including Killarney, Como, Gleneagles and Frankfurt to name just a few and then we returned to our local clubs Royal Wimbledon and R.A.C. Later on Ken and Shirley returned home to their beloved Wales, making lots of new and very Caring friends. I know that Ken was very happy here among his own people and walking his Friend TAFFY on the golf course and on the beautiful Gower Peninsula. A happy life for a very special person who will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
